Hakodate 2015 – FA1301 Dissemination Meeting@CIAC2015
The Cephalopod International Advisory Council (CIAC) will hold its next conference in Hakodate (Japan), November 8th – 14th 2015, a beautiful and historic port city in Northern Japan (venue is the Hakodate Kokusai Hotel).
Theme of the CIAC2015 Conference is “Recent Advances in Cephalopod Science”; it is aimed to bring together cephalopod researchers, educators, and students from around the world.
Our COST Action FA1301 will be represented at CIAC2015 by the Chair, Dr Giovanna Ponte; we will disseminate CephsInAction aims, objectives and activities and increase of network capabilities.
The participation of our COST Action FA1301 has been strongly solicited by CIAC President, Professor Louise Allcock, and apart from the Dissemination Meeting we will also organize a symposium at CIAC2015 Conference. This will be a key deliverable of the activities of the first two years of CephsInAction and will represent a value of the international consideration our FA1301 community is acquiring.
CIAC2015 Conference includes important topics to be discussed that are relevant to FA1301 COST Action, i.e. (in alphabetical order):

The Conference will also comprise five Pre-Symposium Workshops and one Mini-Workshop held concurrently (November 8-9); Symposia will run over four days (November 10-11, 13-14).
The Cephalopod International Advisory Council (CIAC) has been founded in 1983 i. to stimulate, accelerate and influence the direction of cephalopod research; ii. to provide help and advice on aspects of cephalopod biology, including those relevant to the management of cephalopod fisheries; and iii. to spread information on past and current research. One of its most important activities is to hold triennial conferences and publish the results in book or journal form.
